George Carlisle graduated from the Iowa Workshop at the University of Iowa. With no royalties forthcoming, he tried teaching and liked it. He served as an intern at the Phillips Exeter Academy and moved on to St. Paul’s School, in Concord, New Hampshire, where he taught Creative Writing and Humor and Satire as electives. He has been published in The Vermont Review and Adelaide. He is currently assembling a collection of his stories with a boarding school as a common setting.
